Job description

Parts Counter Associate

The Parts Counter Associateis responsible for assisting mechanics and customers with purchasing needs for parts and supplies.

Job Description:

  • Tracking all incoming and outgoing parts for dealership
  • Handling parts payment collection and making sure all parts are billed correctly through service department and collision repair.
  • Packaging and shipping parts back to the manufacturer
  • Complete appropriate record keeping; including tagging all parts with customer name and job number for easy reference
  • Refer to parts manual (hard copy & electronic format) to identify exactly the right parts for the make, model, and year of vehicles being serviced.
  • Providing highest quality of customer service
  • Answer phone calls providing price quotes and other information
  • Notify Parts Manager of out-of-stock parts or materials that need immediate attention
  • Notify Service Advisor and/or Customer when specialty parts have been received
  • Notify the Body Shops when all parts have been arrived and when they will be delivered
  • Assist in putting all order away in a timely manner
  • Follow up on backordered parts
  • Other duties assigned by the Parts Manager

Environmental & Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers to feel and handle, reach with arms and hands, talk and hear.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may incidentally be required to stoop, kneel and crouch, lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 50 pounds
  • This position may require up to 0-5% travel
