Job description

Description

Build the Brand. Create Community. Drive Growth.

At Soapy Joe's, we're more than a car wash-we're a San Diego success story built on creating fans, supporting our communities, and delivering exceptional customer experiences. Our mission is simple: clean cars, protect the environment, and shine in our communities. We are looking for an energetic, entrepreneurial Field Marketing Manager to help accelerate our growth across San Diego.

If you thrive on building relationships, executing high-impact events, creating new business opportunities, and turning ideas into measurable results, this is your opportunity to make a significant impact on a growing organization.

What You'll Do

As the Field Marketing Manager, you will be the face of the Soapy Joe's brand in the community. You'll lead field marketing efforts that drive awareness, memberships, revenue growth, and customer engagement while building partnerships that strengthen our presence throughout San Diego County.

Key areas of responsibility include:

Field Marketing & Community Activations

  • Plan and execute local marketing initiatives that drive traffic, memberships, and brand awareness.
  • Lead on-site activations, community events, sponsorships, promotions, and customer engagement campaigns.
  • Represent Soapy Joe's at community events, networking opportunities, and local partnerships.

Grand Openings & New Store Launches

  • Own the planning and execution of grand opening campaigns for new locations.
  • Coordinate vendors, staffing, promotions, budgets, and cross-functional support.
  • Create memorable experiences that generate excitement, community engagement, and membership growth.

Partnership Development

  • Build and manage strategic relationships with local businesses, schools, nonprofits, sports organizations, and community groups.
  • Identify opportunities that increase visibility, customer acquisition, and brand recognition.
  • Develop partnerships that create measurable business impact.

Fleet Sales & Business Development

  • Build and grow Soapy Joe's fleet wash program.
  • Prospect, qualify, and close new fleet accounts.
  • Manage customer relationships and grow recurring revenue through B2B sales opportunities.
  • Develop strategies that increase fleet utilization and long-term account retention.

Project Management & Performance Reporting

  • Manage multiple projects across events, partnerships, marketing activations, and fleet sales.
  • Establish KPIs, track performance, and provide executive-level reporting.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and increased ROI.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role isn't measured by activity, it's measured by impact.

  • Execute best-in-class grand openings that drive attendance, memberships, and community excitement.
  • Build a repeatable field marketing and activation program that can scale with the company's growth.
  • Establish strategic partnerships that generate measurable traffic, memberships, revenue, and brand awareness.
  • Scale a meaningful fleet sales channel that delivers consistent revenue growth.
  • Deliver strong return on investment across activations, partnerships, and business development efforts.
  • Create reporting and accountability systems that clearly demonstrate results and support future decision-making.

Who You Are

We're looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and takes ownership from idea to execution.

Hunter Mentality

  • You proactively create opportunities rather than waiting for them.
  • You enjoy prospecting, networking, and opening new doors.

Executor

  • You don't just build plans, you make them happen.
  • You are highly accountable and follow through on commitments.

Relationship Builder

  • You develop authentic relationships that lead to long-term partnerships.
  • People enjoy working with you because you are professional, responsive, and trustworthy.

Entrepreneurial

  • You think like an owner.
  • You identify opportunities, solve problems, and are comfortable building programs from the ground up.

Highly Organized

  • You can manage multiple priorities, projects, events, vendors, and partnerships simultaneously.
  • You maintain strong attention to detail while keeping the big picture in focus.

Results-Oriented

  • You are motivated by measurable outcomes.
  • You use data, KPIs, and performance metrics to guide decisions and demonstrate success.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in field marketing, experiential marketing, event management, business development, B2B sales, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of generating revenue through partnerships, events, sponsorships, sales, or customer acquisition efforts.
  • Strong project management, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across multiple teams.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed for events and activations.
  • Ability to travel throughout San Diego County.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred.
  • This is a hybrid role with 3-4 days on site required at our home office location in Santee, CA

Why Soapy Joe's?

At Soapy Joe's, you'll have the opportunity to build something meaningful. You'll shape how we engage with our communities, launch new locations, grow strategic partnerships, and create programs that drive business results. If you're looking for a role where your ideas matter, your impact is visible, and your success directly contributes to company growth, we'd love to meet you.
