SUMMARY: The Halfway House Cashier/Beverage Cart Attendant is responsible for serving guests food and drinks while on the golf course. S/he will mix and serve alcoholic beverages; ensuring guests are of legal age. The Halfway House Cashier/Beverage Cart Attendant will assist with maintaining the AAA Four Diamond standards. This position is part-time and based primarily outdoors.
The Halfway House Cashier/Beverage Cart Attendant shall strive to provide exceptional service to both internal and external guests at all times. S/he will be responsible for exemplifying the Wild Dunes Resort Culture as well as promoting Wild Dunes Resort as both the Destination and Employer of Choice!
Essential job FUNCTIONS:
- Stocks the beverage cart at the beginning of the shift and end, ensuring proper inventory for the shift
- Adheres to policies and procedures on liquor portion control
- Adheres to all Wild Dunes Resort policies
- Reports any beverage cart maintenance issues to supervisor or manager
- Attends mandatory monthly department meetings and appropriate resort and division meets
- Reports tips and hours each shift using the appropriate documents
- Drives cart out to golf course
- Takes orders from guests
- Receives payment from guests
- Distributes appropriate change
- Serves food & drinks
- Mixes specialty drinks
- Counts money in cash drawers at the beginning of shift to ensure the amounts are correct and there is adequate change
- Takes responsibility for cash bank; reports overages or shortages
- Tracks cart inventory sheets and sales sheets as well as entering own sales into the POS System
- Keeps the cart stocked and cleaned at all times
- Informs and promotes guests of daily specials
- Checks guests' identification to ensure minimum age requirement for consumption of alcoholic beverages
- Collects trash and recycling from guests
- Familiarizes him/herself with menu
- Offers creative selling of products to guests
- Answers questions and/or makes recommendations on menus as needed
- Explains how various menu items are prepared
- Takes into consideration any special request, dietary issues made by the guest
- Provides general resort information for guests
- Offers warm and sincere welcome/farewell for all guests of Wild Dunes Resort including use of guest name & good eye contact with each guest
- Maintains an up to date working knowledge of all resort amenities as well as any special events
- Interacts with resort staff in a professional manner, assisting other departments with necessary information
- Up sells other resort services and amenities to guests
- Ensures final quality check on food and beverage prior to serving guests
- Addresses any guest issue promptly and with great concern
- Maintains constant awareness of safety issues, (i.e. broken glass, frayed electrical cords, leaks, broken locks and suspicious persons). Reports all safety incidents to on-duty supervisor.
- Acts with responsibility towards all company property, supplies and equipment.
- Maintains a professional appearance. Follows all Wild Dunes Resort dress code standards.
- Remains alert, courteous and helpful to the guests and colleagues at all times.
