Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Project Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management and project management, with a proven ability to build accurate cost estimates for various construction projects. This role is critical in ensuring that projects are completed within budget and on schedule, while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Responsibilities

·        Prepare accurate cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead.

·        Analyze blueprints, specifications, and project requirements to determine scope of work and calculate costs.

·        Break down complex projects into smaller, manageable components and estimate costs for each phase or item.

·        Review project plans and specifications to understand the scope of work and identify potential risks or cost-saving opportunities.

·        Conduct site visits when necessary to assess the current conditions and make accurate estimations.

·        Perform quantity takeoffs (calculating the material quantities required for the project) from blueprints or project documents.

·        Prepare and submit competitive bids, ensuring that all estimates are complete and accurate with minimal supervision.

·        Provide clarification and revisions to bid proposals as needed.

·        Track costs during the course of the project to ensure that estimates align with actual expenses.

·        Identify discrepancies between estimated and actual costs and recommend corrective actions.

·        Maintain accurate records of estimates, bids, and any revisions.

·        Prepare reports and presentations summarizing costs and project details for review by management or clients.

Qualifications

·        Proven experience as a Project Estimator in the construction industry.

·        Strong knowledge of construction management principles and practices.

·        Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate cost estimation.
