Job description

Lexington Christian Academy (Lexington, MA) is currently accepting applications for the position of part-time Upper School Math Teacher for the 2026-27 school year for CP Calculus. LCA faculty develops curricula and creates, implements, and delivers educational programming for students to achieve the goals and objectives of the LCA mission for all students.

Careful consideration will be given to applicants who have experience in curriculum planning and demonstrated excellence in teaching and inspiring young people. Candidates with a proven track record of leadership in curriculum and supervision will be given priority. Candidates must desire to collaborate with colleagues and be committed to supporting the entire school program.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Teaching & Learning

  1. Develops, plans, and implements curriculum, units, and lesson plans for students within areas of expertise.

  2. Instructs and assesses students in assigned academic subjects. Presents and reinforces learning concepts within the specified subject or subject area.

  3. Establishes and communicates high expectations for all students.

  4. Supports LCAโ€™s core value of parent partnership through proactive, clear, and generous communication.

  5. Establishes and maintains clear guidelines and procedures that ensure a physical and emotionally safe and effective classroom environment for all students.

Culture & Engagement

  1. Contributes to LCA culture through leadership, innovation, and engagement outside the classroom, including sponsorship of a student club, participation in a co-curricular program, and/or serving on a committee.

  2. Performs miscellaneous other job-related duties as assigned, including study hall and/or lunch coverages and other operational needs.

  3. Participates in the spiritual life of the community and spiritual formation of students by attending weekly Chapel and participating in community service initiatives.

Growth & Development

  1. In partnership with supervisors, develops and implements a professional growth plan including personal professional goals.

  2. Is an active participant in faculty, division, and departmental initiatives and meetings through consistent attendance and engagement.

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree is required; masterโ€™s degree is preferred
