Job description

Alexandria Veterinary Clinic is seeking an experienced Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) to join our team and support both outpatient care and procedural services, including surgery and dentistry.

We are seeking a versatile, client-focused technician who thrives in a dynamic general practice environment - balancing exam room care, client communication, and hands-on procedural support. We value credentialed technicians for the clinical knowledge, judgment, and communication skills they bring across all areas of the hospital, helping elevate the quality of medicine, client experience, and patient care.

In this position, you will play a key role in both outpatient and procedural workflows, contributing to a consistent, high standard of care throughout the patient visit.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows
  • Performing anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery
  • Assisting in surgery
  • Performing dental procedures, including prophylaxis and radiography
  • Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately
  • Building strong client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service

Schedule and compensation:

Compensation: $18-$20 per hour, for each hour worked

This is a full or part-time position, with a flexible 5/8 schedule and availability needed Monday-Friday and Saturdays on rotation.

Minimum qualifications and skill set:

  • 2 to 3 years of veterinary technician experience
  • Active and good-standing Certified Veterinary Technician in the state of Minnesota
