Job description

Position Title: Catholic Coordinator of Education
Job Type: Part-Time
Job Location: MCAS Chapel Beaufort, Beaufort, South CarolinaRequirements
The candidate shall have at minimum:
  • An associate degree or at least one year of experience as a religious education teacher.
  • Experience supporting or managing religious education programs for children, youth, and adults.
  • Strong knowledge of Roman Catholic doctrine, liturgy, sacraments, customs, and church organization.
  • Ability to work respectfully in a pluralistic military chapel environment.
  • Ability to mentor, recruit, train, and coordinate volunteer teachers.
  • Strong organizational, communication, scheduling, and administrative skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing schedules and support Sunday morning, weekday, and staff meeting requirements.
  • Ability to obtain required base access and government system access approvals.
Duties
The candidate must:
  • Coordinate Catholic Religious Education Programs for children, youth, adults, families, and single service members.
  • Prepare, review, and coordinate curriculum for CCD, Confirmation, First Communion, First Reconciliation, Baptism preparation, and RCIA.
  • Support the Catholic Priest in planning and administering religious education programs.
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and assess Catholic religious education teachers.
  • Coordinate workshops, teacher meetings, parental conferences, and religious education events.
  • Maintain attendance records, student records, material records, and program documentation.
  • Coordinate classroom scheduling and space allocation.
  • Prepare annual religious education budget input.
  • Coordinate supply needs with chapel personnel.
  • Monitor religious education materials, supplies, curriculum, and classroom resources.
  • Prepare publicity for programs and events through chapel-approved communication methods.
  • Coordinate Children's Liturgy of the Word.
  • Support chapel outreach programs and Catholic community fellowship events.
  • Attend Parish Council meetings, prepare agendas, record minutes, and maintain meeting records.
