Job Type: Part-Time, Flexible
Compensation: $22.00–$28.00 per hour
Location: OFC Creations Theatre Center – Rochester, NY (Onsite)
Reports To: Private Lesson Supervisor; Operations Manager

About the Opportunity

OFC Creations is seeking passionate, engaging, and experienced Private Voice Teachers with a strong background in musical theatre to join our growing education team. As demand for private instruction continues to grow, we're looking for instructors who love helping performers build healthy vocal technique, confidence, and artistry.

This position provides one-on-one instruction for students ages 7 through adult in a welcoming, creative environment. Whether students are preparing for auditions, school performances, or pursuing a lifelong love of singing, you'll help them achieve their individual goals while inspiring the next generation of performers.

There may also be opportunities to teach group classes, direct productions, accompany rehearsals, or instruct in additional disciplines such as acting, piano, or dance based on experience and organizational needs.

Responsibilities

  • Teach engaging, individualized private voice lessons focused primarily on musical theatre
  • Develop lesson plans tailored to each student's age, experience, and goals
  • Foster proper vocal technique, musicianship, performance skills, and confidence
  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive, encouraging feedback
  • Maintain consistent scheduling and communicate professionally with students, families, and staff
  • Prepare students for auditions, performances, showcases, recitals, and masterclasses
  • Collaborate with OFC staff to support educational and performance programming
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

Qualifications

  • Experience in vocal performance, vocal pedagogy, musical theatre, or a related field
  • Previous private or group teaching/coaching experience preferred
  • Comfortable teaching children, teens, and adults of varying experience levels
  • Strong knowledge of healthy vocal technique and musical theatre repertoire
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • Positive, encouraging, and dependable teaching style
  • Evening and/or weekend availability preferred (flexible scheduling available)
  • Reliable transportation
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Employment is contingent upon successfully passing a criminal background check

Schedule
