Position Summary
The Universityof New Mexico is seeking candidates for Temporary Part-Time Adjunct Faculty toteach courses at the Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute (SIPI) forthe 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 Academic Years. Located onAlbuquerque's Westside at 9169 Coors Blvd NW, SIPI is a National IndianCommunity College and Land Grant institution serving American Indian andAlaskan Native students. The Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute preparesculturally diverse students as life-long learners through partnerships withtribes, employers, and other organizations. SIPI establishes a strongeducational foundation for student success.

More detailedcourse information can be found in the SIPI Catalogue. This is an on-going recruitment to fillteaching opportunities as needed by the program area.
These positionsinvolve:
Developing lesson plans and other guides required to meet the goal of training and leading students in their field of academic study.
Developing and implementing assessment plans to demonstrate learning outcomes.
Contributing student achievement data to support program and course evaluations
Maintaining statistical records/data of student proficiency and attendance and other records consistent with course objectives and college policies.
Maintaining one office hour per course per week and may participate in departmental meetings.
Course Delivery and Schedule Requirements:
Courses are offered across day, evening, and weekend schedules via face-to-face, hybrid, online, or hyflex modalities.
Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and possess the ability to navigate digital learning tools and online learning management systems (Brightspace).
If assigned to a distance-learning format (online, hybrid, or hyflex), you must provide evidence of online teaching certification or demonstrate the ability to obtain the required institutional qualifications before instruction begins.

You must also include all relevant professional licenses, industry-recognized certifications, non-credit technical training, or peer-reviewed work to substantiate your equivalent field expertise. Missing history may exclude you from equivalency consideration.
A backgroundsecurity investigation and fingerprint check by the Bureau of Indian Education are required.
Qualifications
MinimumQualifications:
Instructor qualifications are determined in compliance with HigherLearning Commission (HLC) standards; final alignment of degrees andtested/equivalent experience is determined by the relevant ProgramCoordinator and Academic Dean. Applicants must meet one of the followingcriteria:
Standard Academic Track: A Master's degree or higher in the discipline or sub-field.
Tested/Equivalent Experience Track: A combination of education, industry certifications, or extensive professional experience appropriate to the discipline.
Specialized Program Exceptions: For Culinary Arts or Vision Care Technology only, a Bachelor's degree in the field combined with at least two years of undergraduate/post-secondary teaching experience in the subject.
Preferred Qualifications:
A demonstrated commitment to cultivate an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico and to the success of the university's mission to serve local and global communities.
