Job description

JOB TITLE: Marketing and Outreach Assistant (Part-Time)
DEPARTMENT: Administration
SUPERVISED BY: Marketing and Outreach Coordinator
JOB SUMMARY:
The Marketing & Outreach Assistant is a part-time (15 hours per week) nonexempt/hourly position that supports the agency's marketing, fundraising, and community outreach activities. This role includes helping with social media, website updates, design projects, donor relations, and events. The ideal candidate is flexible, creative, comfortable interacting with the public, and eager to learn.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist with social media management, including scheduling posts, uploading photos, and monitoring comments/messages.
• Help create and distribute flyers, newsletters, invitations, and signage using Canva and/or Adobe Suite.
• Support donor communications and donation database management, including tracking donations, preparing thank-you letters, and assisting with mailings.
• Assist with researching grant funding opportunities and grant application processes
• Provide event support related to planning, logistics, and execution for fundraisers, community outreach events, and staff events.
• Participate in community outreach, including assisting at resource fairs and maintaining outreach materials.
• Provide light photography/videography at events for use in communications.
• Assist with routine website content updates and basic maintenance.
• Keep records, files, and content organized for reporting and storytelling.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• High School Diploma required; some college or relevant coursework preferred.
• Experience and/or interest in marketing, social media, design, communications, community engagement, and events.
• Comfort level with working directly with the public at events and in community settings.
• Experience with Adobe Suite and/or Canva is a plus, but training will be provided.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
• Reliable, flexible, creative, and willing to learn.
• Comfortable working independently and managing multiple tasks
• Must have reliable transportation to attend community events, outreach activities, or off-site meetings.
• Availability to occasionally assist at evening or weekend events.
• Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply.
