Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION

HomeSmiles Charleston–Beaufort is a home services company serving the Charleston metro area. We provide gutter cleaning, dryer vent cleaning, pressure washing, window washing, and a range of other maintenance services for homeowners and property managers.
I'm hiring a Marketing Intern to take ownership of our social media content production. Our field team captures footage from job sites regularly, and I need someone to turn that footage into consistent, performant short-form content across Instagram, Facebook, and a new TikTok account that you would help launch and grow.
This role is a strong fit for a student or recent graduate in marketing, communications, or a related field who has hands-on experience producing short-form video and wants meaningful ownership over a small business's digital presence. The position runs through summer 2026 with potential to extend through fall.
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Edit raw job-site footage into 3–5 short-form videos per week for Instagram Reels, Facebook, YouTube Shorts, and TikTok
  • Write captions, schedule posts, and engage with comments across platforms
  • Launch and build a new TikTok account from the ground up
  • Support our Google Local Services Ads: monitor incoming leads, request reviews from completed customers, and report on weekly performance
  • Create supporting graphics in Canva as needed
  • Occasionally visit active job sites in the Charleston area to capture additional footage
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Demonstrated experience editing short-form video in CapCut (portfolio required)
  • Active, knowledgeable user of TikTok and Instagram, with an understanding of current short-form trends
  • Proficiency with AI tools such as ChatGPT or Claude for content drafting and ideation
  • Strong written communication for captions and short-form copy
  • Basic Canva skills
  • Self-directed work style with minimal supervision required
  • Reliable laptop, internet, and transportation
  • Local to the Charleston area, with availability to meet at our Mount Pleasant office once per week
WHAT YOU'LL GET OUT OF THIS

  • Real ownership of a small business's social presence, including building a brand-new TikTok from zero
  • Direct working relationship with the business owner
  • A measurable portfolio piece you can point to in future applications
  • Flexible hours that work around a class schedule
  • Potential to extend into a longer-term part-time role

Flexible work from home options available.
