Job description

Gray Line Tennessee is Nashville's Leader in Transportation with over 200 vehicles in the fleet and nearly 400 employees dedicated to providing safe, authentic, and professional transportation services. We currently operate five distinct businesses, all of which are oriented toward safety, quality, and customer service.
Position Summary:
Perform maintenance and repairs on a diverse fleet of commercial passenger vehicles, including motorcoaches, minibuses, school buses, trolleys, and double-decker buses. Most vehicles are built on one-ton chassis and powered by gas or small diesel engines. Ideal candidates will have experience working with Ford E-Series, F-Series, and Cummins engines, or similar commercial vehicle platforms.
Salary:
$22-40/hour based on experience; Quarterly Bonuses and Tool Allowance after 90 day Probationary period
Paid in-house CDL Training available with clean driving record.
Schedule:
  • Part time, Second Shift
  • Rotating Weekends

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate mechanical problems in vehicles using diagnostic equipment.
  • Perform repairs on vehicles along with maintenance
  • Check and repair electrical and cooling systems and install heaters and similar accessories.
  • Analyze engine performance and perform tune-ups as needed. Perform routine vehicle maintenance and preventive care.
  • Operate tools, equipment, and machinery in accordance with established safety guidelines. Ensure shop, equipment and tools are in safe operating condition. Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable.
  • Maintain accurate and updated preventive maintenance records. Ensure all required reports are completed within established timelines.
  • Ensure shop, tools, supplies and all work areas are clean and orderly at all times.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education, Skill, and Abilities:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of experience in shop setting with knowledge of diesel and fuel engines, ability to diagnose mechanical problems and perform repairs, and operate equipment and tools involved in vehicle repair.
  • Working knowledge of computers and basic data entry skills required
  • Must pass pre-employment background check and drug test.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to work in shop environment in all weather conditions.
  • Moderate walking, standing, climbing, heavy lifting, carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching.
  • Work outside and inside around moving objects, vehicles, and machinery with moving parts.
