Waggoner Engineering is hiring a part-time Engineering Intern Technician for our Bossier City, LA - Airline office to provide quality planning, designing and technical overview to assist Project Manager/Client Account Manager in delivering project, within budgetary and time constraints. Also provide administrative and technical support to the Project Manager/Client Account Manager. Additionally, provides design and engineering assistance to other project team members.

Your Primary Responsibilities will include
  • Maintains and documents communication with clients through letters and telephone throughout the development and completion of a project.
  • Monitors team members progress and advises team members of schedules and deadlines.
  • Reviews schedules and budgets relative to project progress and completion.
  • Conducts project status review checking accuracy of work completed and monitors timeliness of project completion.
  • Attends meetings on project management.
  • Assists Project Managers with any administrative duties concerning completion of assigned project.
  • Maintains project file.
  • Assists Project Manager in preparation of engineering studies and reports.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to members of the project team.
  • Provide project design using sound engineering principles, engineering software, and AutoCAD.
  • Assists in preparation of contract documents and technical specifications.
  • Assists Project Manager in assuring quality control procedures are performed.
  • Assist in preparation of project drawings.
  • Performs necessary code research.
  • Responsible for the accuracy of each segment of the work and the final check of the work.
  • Responsible for adherence to all applicable codes.

What you'll need
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Science degree program in Civil Engineering at an ABET-accredited university
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
  • Detail-oriented team player with the ability to contribute to a positive work environment
  • Valid driver's license with approved/acceptable driving history
  • Familiarity with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD CADD platforms
