Job description

Description
The NYC Bard Microcolleges are accepting applications for full-time and part-time tutors. Tutoring happens in person at Microcollege locations in Brooklyn and Harlem. Priority for full-time positions will be given to applications submitted each April 15 for position starting on July 1 of that year. Applications for part-time positions will be considered continuously.
Building on the values and decades of success of the Bard Prison Initiative (BPI), the Bard Microcollege brings tuition-free, high-quality, liberal arts education to communities most often excluded from the university experience. These partnerships create opportunities for academic success and disrupt traditional expectations about the kinds of students who can and will succeed in college. Part-time tutoring positions have a wage of $25/hr for up to 24 hours per week. Part-time tutoring positions are not benefits-eligible. Part-time positions are renewable for up to two years on the basis of evaluations each semester.
We strongly encourage applications from BPI, Microcollege, and BardBac alums, as this is an excellent opportunity for those seeking further study and/or a career in an education-related field.

  • Respond to tutor writing from tutor workshops
  • Help coordinate Admission processes
  • Complete one article on their experience for the BPI Blog
