About The Position:
The Center for Earth and Environmental Science is seeking qualified applicants to teach Geology courses and/or labs on a part-time basis.
Successful candidates will be committed to excellence in teaching in an institution dedicated primarily to undergraduate education. They will be expected to demonstrate an understanding of and sensitivity to diversity and gender issues, as SUNY Plattsburgh is committed to ensuring that its graduates are educated to succeed in an increasingly complex, multicultural, and interdependent world.
Some Adjunct Instructors assigned to laboratories, theaters, or studios (art, theater, science) must participate in mandatory safety training before they can begin work. Training sessions are provided by the College during the first week of each semester. No additional compensation is provided for attendance at the mandatory safety training sessions.
The vita bank exists to provide a pool of candidates who might be available to fill anticipated positions as needed.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and strong evidence of instruction experience. Successful candidates will have demonstrated an ability to work effectively and collegially with faculty, staff, and administrators.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree preferred.
