As a Senior Communications Specialist, you'll be part of a corporate team that develops communications for divisional and national audiences. You'll work within a specialist pool, helping to develop and execute strategic communication plan tactics in collaboration with communications leadership across several corporate portfolios.

In this fast-paced and complex environment, you'll work with stakeholders, subject matter experts, and cross functional colleagues to reach both internal and external audiences. You'll make a difference as a solutions-centered content creator, creative thinker, and skilled storyteller, focused on delivering results across multiple communication channels.

What You Will Do

  • Develop content and copy for a variety of channels and media, including email, SharePoint, intranet sites, events, PowerPoint presentations, social media and video.
  • Actively participate in content development by assessing project communication plans; isolating objectives and goals; identifying target audiences and their communication needs and completing deliverables that support program execution.
  • Build strong relationships with business partners and leaders across various portfolios to understand ongoing priorities and communication needs.
  • Manage deliverables and escalate issues or conflicting priorities to the Communications Manager and portfolio leadership.
  • Liaise and consult with a variety of internal creative partners in production, including Community Relations, Media Production, Digital Services and Translation Services.
  • Deliver creative, impactful content solutions by collaborating with cross-functional project teams to ensure consistent messaging, positioning, timing and language across internal and external audiences.
  • Intake a variety of assigned projects, manage personal production, and deliver the highest quality of communication tactics on time and within scope.

What You Will Bring

  • Completion of a post-secondary degree in communications or a related field (an equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered)
  • 3 to 5 years of progressive communications experience with deployments across multiple audiences, channels and platforms
  • Exceptional communication skills with demonstrated creativity in content development, storytelling, writing, and editing skills
  • Proven ability to manage personal production, adept at handling concurrent projects and delivering high-quality work within tight timelines
  • Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively on a national team across multiple locations.
  • Comfort working in corporate, institutional or similarly fast-paced communications environments characterized by ambiguity, change, and evolving priorities.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365 and other common office software.
  • Experience using SharePoint Online, Teams and Microsoft Live Events is considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and best practices is considered an asset.

The base salary for this position is between $53,900 - $99,700 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc). If you are selected to move forward in our recruitment process, your recruiter will be able to discuss additional details of our total rewards program with you.
