Job Description
What We Do
Electronic Trading Platform (ETP) team provides tailored infrastructure solutions for the firm's global markets businesses; we engineer and operate low latency trading environments globally. We leverage modern infrastructure, automation, and observability to optimize performance and manage risk on behalf of our clients. The team's areas of responsibility encompass server hardware, Linux, networking, configuration management and packet capture analytics. The team directly interfaces with senior business stakeholders and external clients of the firm.
How You Will Fulfill Your Potential
  • Architect and deliver high-performance, large-scale distributed trading networks, setting technical direction and driving adoption of automation at scale.
  • Own senior stakeholder relationships across trading desks, technology leadership, and external clients - translating business requirements into robust network solutions and driving commercial outcomes.
  • Lead incident response and operational excellence for mission-critical network infrastructure, establishing best practices for change management, capacity planning, and risk mitigation.
  • Drive strategic initiatives including network architecture evolution, vendor and technology evaluation, and cross-regional standardization across global data center and exchange connectivity footprints.
  • Use AI-assisted tools to support network automation, configuration management, and observability workflows.
  • Expand beyond your domain. We have broad engineering remits, affording opportunities to explore innovative hardware, software, and emerging tooling.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • CCNP or equivalent accreditation with deep expertise in end-to-end infrastructure delivery, including BGP, multicast routing, switching, and network design at scale.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross-functional technical initiatives from design through production delivery.
  • Strong communication and analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to influence at senior levels.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 7+ years supporting mission-critical, latency-sensitive production environments.
  • Extensive experience with colocation connectivity, cross-connect provisioning, carrier diversity, and exchange/venue connectivity models across multiple regions.
  • Proven track record with production change management practices and strong knowledge of SDLC.
  • Advanced scripting (bash/python) and configuration management (Ansible, Salt) experience building tooling and driving automation with an Infrastructure-as-Code mindset.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development and automation tools.
  • Experience with open source monitoring and metrics collection (Nagios, TICK, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.) with the ability to define and drive observability strategy.
  • Comfortable operating in and optimising Linux-based environments.
  • Production operations: leading incident response, triaging and troubleshooting complex, multi-layered network issues with a focus on root cause elimination.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as the role interfaces directly with senior stakeholders, external clients, and internal technology stakeholders across regions.
  • Securities/trading domain exposure a plus.
