Job description

Job Summary:
The Art Teacher will instruct students in grades K-5 in Art, following the approved procedures and curriculum of the school.  The teacher will cooperatively work with other classroom teachers, pupil personnel team, and complementary subject area teachers. The teacher will be responsible for the students of the assigned class, effectively teaching the curriculum to meet individual needs of students, evaluating student progress, and communicating progress to parents.

This is a part time teaching position - to be scheduled for two days per week. Actual schedule to be determined based on organizational need and staff availability.  

Organizational Relationship:
The Art Teacher reports directly to the Building Administration.

Qualifications:

  • Illinois State Board of Education Professional Licensure with English as a Second Language (ESL) endorsement, preferred
  • Solution-focused approach to supporting the social, emotional, and academic development of all children
  • Experience working within an elementary school setting and a diverse (culturally, racially, ethnically, linguistically etc.) student population
  • Fluency in a second language, preferred
