JOB SUMMARY

The Driver will operate vehicles and transport passengers to various locations. As a driver, you must have a safe driving record, follow all state and national driving laws, rules, and regulations, and have at least one year of driving experience. In this position, you will follow prearranged routes using GPS. You will also maintain vehicle upkeep and cleanliness and practice safe driving habits.

OFFICE LOCATION: Gaithersburg/Lanham

FLSA CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt

SALARY:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide transportation via facility vans for individuals to and from Opportunities, Inc. and throughout Montgomery and/or Prince George’s County.
  • Maintain the vehicle's cleanliness, perform basic maintenance, and ensure it is in good working order.
  • Maintain precise attendance and activity records, ensuring timely arrivals.
  • Follow traffic laws, adhere to safety regulations, and ensure the safety of passengers.
  • Keep mileage records and repair records up to date
  • Participate in cross-functional teams, as assigned, to address organizational needs and promote collaboration across departments in support of Opportunities Inc.’s mission.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND DESIRED SKILLS:

  • A valid driver’s license and at least one year of driving experience to perform the job safely
  • Excellent navigation skills and proficiency in using navigation applications to find locations
  • Time management and organizational skills to stay on schedule
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients
  • Be familiar with Montgomery County and/or Prince George’s County areas.
  • Willing to work in a high-energy environment, with a diverse population
  • Have a High School Diploma or GED (AA preferred)

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Provide transportation via facility vans for individuals to and from Opportunities, Inc. and throughout Montgomery and Prince George’s County.
  • Practice safe driving habits.
  • Maintain vehicle equipment; fill gas tank, perform general motor vehicle maintenance as needed for safety.
  • Follow schedules and rerouting in a timely manner when faced with traffic or congestion.
  • Keep the interior and exterior of the vehicle clean and presentable
  • Other duties as assigned.

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES

  • Will be detail-oriented, capable of multitasking, and organized.
  • Will be familiar with Montgomery County and/or Prince George’s County activities and resources.
  • Willing to work in a high-energy environment with a diverse population.
