Job description

Department: Parts
Functions:
  1. To deliver and pick up parts and equipment for the dealership.

Relationships:
  1. Reports directly to the Parts Manager.
  2. Reports indirectly to the Assistant Parts Manager if applicable.

Responsibilities and Authority:
  • Deliver parts and equipment to customers, satellite stores and vendors.
  • Ensure all items delivered to the customer match the items charged on the invoice.
  • Pick up parts and equipment from customers, satellite stores and vendors.
  • Ensure items picked up match the items listed on the paperwork.
  • Coordinate pick up and delivery with Parts Manager, Assistant Parts Manager, Parts Counterpersons, and Parts Receiver/Stocker as directed.
  • Must be courteous and friendly at all times.
  • Help maintain professional appearance of the Parts Department.
  • Report all customer concerns/complaints to the Assistant Manager or the Parts Manager.
  • Ensure that all delivery invoices are signed per Parts Department guidelines and that all dealership copies of the invoices are returned to the dealership and accounted for.
  • Responsible for monitoring delivery vehicle and bringing any needed maintenance or repair to the attention of the Parts Manager or the Assistant Parts Manager.
  • Fill fuel tank of delivery vehicle as you return to the dealership from your last delivery of the day.
  • Ensure delivery vehicle is empty of all parts / equipment and parked in appropriate parking spot with the doors locked at the end of your shift.
  • Take all trash from the Parts Department to the dumpster once per shift.
  • Take all cardboard from the parts Department to the cardboard dumpster once per shift.
  • Sweep warehouse area floors when downtime allows.
  • All other tasks deemed necessary by Management.

Requirements
Qualifications:
High School diploma or the equivalent. Able to read and comprehend instructions and information. Professional personal appearance. Employee must be able to lift/move 25 lbs. consistently and occasionally up to 100 lbs. Must be at least 21 years or older. Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record. Able to use computer and calculator. Able to communicate well orally and in writing with customers, vendors, and others.
Working Conditions:
This is a physically demanding position. Will drive company-provided vehicles six to eight hours per shift. Will lift and transport parts weighing up to 70 lbs. several times per day. Will be exposed to heat, cold, dust, noise, fumes, and other hazardous and nonhazardous materials. Will lift, reach, sit, stand on ladders, push, pull, bend, twist, and other physically demanding activities regularly throughout the shift. Will have customer interaction.
