Job description

Overview

You will be an integral member of the team that creates distinctively different and authentic experiences for our guests.  You will be responsible for supporting the serving staff, ensuring prompt service and overseeing the cleanliness and general upkeep of the restaurant, patio and bar areas during serving hours.

The utility person combines the position of Food Expeditor, Food and Beverage Busser/Barback. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to; washing and polishing glassware, clearing plates and glassware, wiping tables, garnish preparation and changing keg beers. You will communicate orders and information between the front of house and back of house, making sure that food is cooked in the right order, quickly, and presented to the customer as beautifully as possible. The utility person will make sure the orders are being cooked in a timely fashion, so that all orders for a table are ready at the same time and make sure that once the food is cooked, you run the food to the table while it's warm and ready. You will also be required to assist and support servers to ensure prompt service and guests' satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards
  • Set up kitchen work station to assist Chef on expediting food
  • Be able to take instruction from the Chef working the line
  • Assure all items are delivered and prepared as orders are requested to guest specifications
  • Consistently keep the restaurant organized and clean
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas, china, glass, etc., throughout the day
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional
  • Have knowledge of and understand the food menus
  • Deliver and serve food entrees to the guest
  • Set up umbrellas for lunch service and heaters/propane tanks for dinner service
  • Complete closing duties, including restocking items, etc.
  • Anticipate and address guests` service needs
  • Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards
  • Speak with others using clear and professional language
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 20 pounds without assistance

  • Adhere to departmental policies and procedures
  • Effectively communicate with peers, management, line and front of the house employees
  • Perform related duties as required

Compensation

Base Pay Start Rate: $17.59/Hr.
