Job description

This position is central to the missionaries' role to 'Invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end.' The TALL Embark Data Analyst is an entry support level individual contributor responsible for analyzing and improving content and metadata for all MTC training languages. They work with partners in other areas to improve content quality and impact under the direction of the Curriculum Solution Manager.

Required:
1 year of experience working with language learning content, data analysis, content management or language training
Proficiency in a second language
Ability to design and debug computational processes (data transformation, string comparison)
Ability to design and interpret relational data structures
Ability to interpret and articulate complex technical requirements
Strong knowledge of spreadsheet formulas (Google Sheets)
Ability to use or learn to use Python/R and SQL
To successfully perform the essential functions of the job, there may be physical requirements which need to be met such as sitting for long periods of time and using monitors/equipment.


Preferred:
Foundational knowledge of linguistics concepts
Familiarity with MTC curriculum and practices
Familiarity with TALL Embark

Reports to manager level in the Training department.
Maintains language content and metadata using Google Sheets, scripts, APIs, published linguistic data, and ad hoc processes.
Seeks content feedback from training partners.
Designs and completes quality audits to ensure data consistency and coverage.
Completes varied content management assignments with minimal supervision.
Recommends and/or create automation components to improve content maintenance processes.
Documents complex content management processes.
Requests, tracks, and communicates on the release of content updates.
May include other temporary assigned duties at the MTC (e.g. assisting with Mission Leadership Seminar)
