Job description

YVEA is hiring an experienced Journeyman Lineman to construct, maintain, and repair our transmission and distribution electrical system. This is a hands-on, safety-critical role for a skilled tradesperson who takes pride in quality workmanship and reliable service to the communities we power.What You'll DoBuild and maintain the transmission and distribution system - clearing right-of-way, digging pole and anchor holes, framing and setting poles and anchors, stringing and sagging conductors, and installing downguysInstall and maintain underground equipment, cable, and specialty switchesInstall transformers, transformer banks, breakers, take-off assemblies, services, regulators, streetlights, meters, and lightning arresters on both energized and de-energized linesMaintain, test, and repair switching structures, substations, oil circuit breakers, oil circuit reclosers, sectionalizers, and transformersPatrol lines, read operations counters, and report conditions needing maintenancePerform voltage checks, load surveys, and load balancingSupport meter technicians with C.T. and P.T. meter installationsRespond to trouble calls on scheduled standbyMaintain assigned vehicles, tools, and rubber goods in safe operating conditionComplete required documentation - job briefings, staking sheets, switching orders, outage reports, and daily time/mileage logsLead and oversee the performance and quality of work for crew members and apprenticesWhat You BringStrong working knowledge of electrical transmission and distribution systemsExperience with pole-line construction, underground equipment, and substation maintenanceAbility to work safely on energized and de-energized linesStrong documentation and reporting habitsWillingness to perform scheduled standby dutyLeadership skills to guide crew members and apprenticesBenefitsHealth, Dental, and Vision insurance401(k)Pension PlanPaid Time Off (PTO)Paid HolidaysWellness benefitBusiness Travel Accident insuranceLife InsuranceAnd more!About YVEA: Yampa Valley Electric Association serves Northwest Colorado with more than just electricity.
