Job description

      The UPS Store at CU Boulder is a fast-paced environment located on campus at CU Boulder.
We receive and sort mail and packages for the 8,500+ students that live on campus.
We have three locations on the campus and are currently recruiting for a full time associate to work alongside
5-10 part time student employees per shift.

The Center Associate delivers world-class customer service to all retail customers by receiving and processing packages
for courier shipment along with operating copiers, fax machines, binding equipment, laminating machines, and
point-of-sale devices.
The Associate expertly advises our valued customers by providing accurate information on our array of products,
services, and best-value options, while exhibiting confidence by knowing best practices related to the industry.
The ideal candidate has previous retail sales experience, strong computer and internet skills, a high school diploma,
a friendly and helpful demeanor, and a professional appearance. He or she must be a fast learner who makes an
effort to learn all aspects of the business in the shortest possible time.
    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES          ·        Delivers outstanding customer service to walk-in customers and telephone inquiries·        Continuously practices good listening skills with customers, The UPS Store team members, and leadership·        Takes ownership of the customer's shipping needs and offers viable solutions·        Operate a Point of Sale and general office equipment·        Operates all equipment, software, and devices in an expert fashion and is willing to teach others·        Maintains a clean, organized, and safe working environment
·        Sort and distribute mail·        Check in and sort packages from multiple carriers·        Assist customers with package pick up

 SKILLS·        Experience with POS systems and cash register operations in a retail environment ·        Ability to perform retail math accurately for transactions, discounts, and inventory counts·        Strong communication skills and clear verbal interactions with customers and team members·        Skilled in product demos, upselling techniques, and customer engagement strategies·        Familiarity with cashiering procedures, stock management, and basic math operations essential for retail sales success·        Excellent phone etiquette to handle inquiries professionally and courteously
 
QUALIFICATIONS            ·        High school diploma required ·        Must have minimum 1 year previous customer service and cash handling experience·        Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Adobe Suites·        Outstanding phone skills·        Strong verbal and written communication skills, including spelling and math·        Prompt, reliable, and responsible·        Able to stand for long periods of time·        Able to lift 40+ pounds·        Able to work 40 hrs with shifts between 9am-7pm Mon-Fri and 10am-4pm Sat·        Must have a valid US driver’s license and a clean driving record and be willing to drive company van
