Title: Substitute Teacher

Reports to: Principal

Location: Saint Ann Catholic School |Naples, FL

Overview

Saint Ann School, within the Diocese of Venice in Florida, Inc. works diligently to support and strengthen the Catholic Church and its value system. By word and example teachers support all of the official religious teachings of the Catholic Church throughout their personal and professional lives.

Our teachers embrace the purpose of teaching and witness the tenets of the Catholic Faith, instill a sense of Christ's mission, charity and service to others; draw the school community into worship and to build, support and maintain a Catholic culture throughout the School and create a vibrant Catholic culture within the classroom, emphasized through words, deeds, manner of dress and actions.

Job Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver educational instruction using the most efficient and effective methodology for the students assigned when the regular teacher is unavailable.
  • Provide corrective feedback to students and re-teach as necessary, to ensure students have mastered the objections.
  • Collaborate and clearly communicate with parents/guardians and other educators to assist the students.
  • Implement approved-course curriculum.
  • Implement modifications in a student's education plan as required.
  • Complete written reports and assigned administrative tasks related to these functions as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Florida State Certification (or approved application for Certification)
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in groups.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Knowledge of theory and practice of student learning styles
  • Ability to remain calm and pleasant under stressful circumstances
  • Ability to communicate cooperatively and effectively with staff, students and parents.
  • Strong computer skills.
