Job description

Overview
Employment Type: Variable Hourly Employment
Schedule:
  • Flexible schedules ranging from 10 to 29 hours per week, depending on the applicant's availability.
  • Special consideration for students; the department will accommodate their schedules.

Note: This is an on-campus ACA variable position. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. U.S. work authorization is required for the duration of employment.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain campus grounds, performing tasks such as weeding, litter pick-up, mowing, pruning, and irrigation.
  • Work with various landscapes, including flowers, trees, sod, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Must be 16 years old to operate equipment in order to fulfill job responsibilities.
  • Valid driver's license to perform essential job responsibilities, such as driving university vehicles and transporting materials.

Outdoors, incumbents may not be protected from weather conditions and may be exposed to extreme heat and extreme cold. Position requires extensive physical labor in dust and pollen filled environments in all types of weather. Additionally, indoor or outdoor work environments may include being confined or in narrow spaces for periods of time. The incumbent may also be exposed to loud noises or vibrations from equipment, and conditions that may affect the respiratory system, such as fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, and poor ventilation. Bending, crawling, stooping, lifting, and crouching may be required. Incumbents may be required to lift, push, and/or pull objects up to 50 pounds and be required to walk and/or stand for long periods of time. Requires extensive physical labor in dust and pollen filled environments in all types of weather.
