Job description

The UAF Admissions Welcome Center Student Employee plays a vital role in creating a positive first impression for prospective students and their families. Responsible for greeting all visitors to the UAF Office of Admissions, whether in person, by phone, or via email, this position ensures that every guest feels welcomed, supported, and well-informed. The student employee delivers outstanding customer service at the front desk, provides backup support for the admissions phone queue, and serves as a secondary Campus Tour Guide when needed.
To thrive in this role, you must be a currently enrolled student at the University of Alaska Fairbanks with strong verbal communication skills and a professional, welcoming, and patient demeanor. Successful candidates will be comfortable navigating web-based tools such as Amazon Connect, multitasking in a fast-paced environment, and confidently engaging with students, families, and visitors. The ideal candidate will also enjoy public speaking and feel comfortable leading and presenting to groups of 10-25 people.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Be enrolled in at least 6 UA credits.
2. Have at least a 2.0 GPA.
3. Completed at least one semester at UAF already

This recruitment is open to undergraduate students only.
This position is located on the University of Alaska campus in Fairbanks. This is a part-time, student assistant position, starting rate of $20.00/hr.
