Part-Time Athletic Training Student Intern

Department: Athletic Training
Employment Type: Part-Time Student Internship

Position Summary

The Athletic Training Student Internship is designed to help students achieve their educational and professional goals through a structured, hands-on learning experience. Student interns are valued members of the Warner University Athletic Training team and gain practical experience while assisting certified athletic trainers in providing quality care to student-athletes.

Minimum Qualifications.

  • Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
  • Hold and maintain a current CPR certification throughout employment.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and a willingness to learn.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Follow all Athletic Training Department policies, procedures, and confidentiality standards.
  • Maintain assigned work schedules and communicate promptly regarding absences or emergencies.
  • Assist with the setup, operation, and breakdown of practices, games, and athletic training events.
  • Support athletic trainers with basic first aid, protective taping, and bandaging under appropriate supervision and within the student's level of training.
  • Assist with home event coverage and other duties assigned by the Head or Assistant Athletic Trainer.
  • Remain attentive and engaged during work hours; personal electronic devices and schoolwork are not permitted while on duty.

  • Represent Warner University and the Athletic Training Department with professionalism both on and off campus.
  • Demonstrate respect, integrity, and inclusiveness when working with student-athletes, coaches, staff, and peers.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all medical and personal information.
  • Wear the required Athletic Training uniform and adhere to department dress code standards.
  • Comply with all university policies and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.

Dress Code

  • Game Days: Official Athletic Training polo, khaki or black shorts, and appropriate athletic shoes.
  • Training Room: Warner University or Athletic Training shirt, athletic or khaki/black shorts, and appropriate athletic shoes.
  • Clothing such as Crocs, slides, leggings, biker shorts, short shorts, jeans, sweatpants, crop tops, or non-Warner affiliated T-shirts is not permitted. Athletic Training shirts are available for daily checkout if needed.

Employment Standards

Failure to meet internship expectations or university policies may result in disciplinary action, including written warnings, suspension, or termination of employment. Warner University reserves the right to terminate employment immediately for serious misconduct.Â
