Hourly Wage: $39.00 - $46.50, depending on prior experience, with an additional $2.25 per hour for evening and night shifts.

Role Overview

The primary responsibility of the Registered Nurse (RN) is to apply the nursing process in delivering direct care to assigned residents. The RN will oversee and implement shift routines within the designated nursing unit, while also supervising and evaluating the activities of staff as the designated leader, in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act. The RN may also take on "Building Charge" duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing or their designee.

Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse license in Colorado
  • Current CPR Certification
  • Completion of required Continuing Education Units (CEUs)
  • Experience in long-term care is preferred
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make independent decisions using initiative and discretion
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities
  • Effective communication skills with staff, families, and external agencies
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Customer service-oriented with knowledge of effective service techniques
  • Clinical competence to perform physical and cognitive assessments of residents
  • Proficient in using computers and electronic devices for timekeeping, training, and documentation
  • Team player
  • Understanding of current Antibiotic Stewardship, Infection Prevention, Infection Control, and OSHA guidelines
Essential FunctionsLeadership and Direction
  • Exemplify positive communication skills with nursing assistants, interdisciplinary teams, management, residents, and their families.
  • Maintain open communication with supervisors and colleagues during shift changes.
  • Conduct rounds to assess residents' physical and psychosocial well-being.
  • Assign staff appropriately to meet resident needs.
  • Ensure that all personnel fulfill their responsibilities during shifts.
  • Participate in scheduled nurses' and team meetings.
  • Initiate disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Report any occupational exposures in line with facility policies.
  • Present concerns and suggestions for improvement to facility leadership.
Resident Care Responsibilities
  • Maintain proficiency in all required skills within assigned areas.
  • Ensure residents are treated with dignity and respect.
  • Report any suspected abuse or neglect immediately, following company policy.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments as directed by physicians.
  • Document resident responses and any side effects of medications accurately.
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation in accordance with facility policies.
  • Communicate changes in residents' conditions to physicians and families.
  • Follow emergency protocols as necessary.
  • Adhere to all Advance Directives and care protocols.
Documentation and Assessment
  • Contribute to the development and updating of residents' care plans.
  • Evaluate and report on the performance of supervised personnel.
  • Complete routine charting duties as per established policies.
  • Accurately transcribe physician orders and communicate necessary information to other departments.
  • Document all incidents involving residents, visitors, and staff.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments of residents as required and document findings appropriately.
Personnel Functions
  • Attend scheduled nurses' meetings.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Fulfill continuing education requirements.
  • Participate in employee performance evaluations and staffing recommendations.
  • Foster positive working relationships with inter-departmental staff.
  • Complete required in-services and online training modules.
Committee Involvement
  • Engage in various committees and meetings to enhance interdisciplinary collaboration.
