Job description

Joint Implant Surgeons of Florida is seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our clinical team in supporting our Level II Surgery Room. This is a part-time position primarily scheduled on Fridays for a hald or full day, with the opportunity for additional hours and cross-coverage as the needs of the practice evolve.
The ideal candidate is a compassionate, detail-oriented nursing professional who is comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment and takes pride in providing exceptional patient care. This role will work closely with our providers and clinical team to ensure patients receive safe, efficient, and high-quality care throughout their in-office procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide compassionate, professional nursing care to patients before, during, and following in-office procedures.
  • Assist providers with procedures and other clinical needs as requested.
  • Monitor patients during recovery and promptly identify and communicate any changes in patient condition.
  • Maintain compliance with Level II surgical/procedural protocols, including ensuring required documentation, policies, equipment, and processes remain current and compliant with applicable state regulations.
  • Maintain, clean, inspect, and assist with the upkeep of Level II equipment and supplies.
  • Oversee the cleanliness and organization of the procedure and recovery rooms, maintaining the highest standards of infection prevention and control.
  • Ensure appropriate supplies and equipment are available and prepared for scheduled procedures.
  • Provide nursing coverage and clinical support for additional procedure days, as needed, including potential coverage on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
  • Collaborate effectively with providers, medical assistants, and other members of the clinical team to promote efficient patient flow and a positive patient experience.
  • Participate in maintaining a safe, organized, and professional clinical environment.
  • Perform other nursing and clinical duties as assigned.

Requirements
Skills & Qualifications
  • Strong clinical judgment and the ability to respond appropriately to patient concerns and changes in condition.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and listening skills with a patient-centered approach.
  • Ability to remain calm, focused, and professional in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a collaborative clinical team.
  • Dependable, adaptable, and willing to provide cross-coverage based on the needs of the practice.
Education & Experience
  • Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
  • Current, active Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
  • Minimum of 1 year of patient care experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in orthopedics, spine, pain management, procedural nursing, or a similar specialty preferred.
  • Previous PACU/recovery room experience preferred.
  • Experience working in an ambulatory surgery or procedure setting is a plus.
Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to perform essential clinical duties, including:
  • Frequent and repetitive bending, reaching, lifting, walking, squatting, pushing, and sitting.
  • Standing and walking for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Occasional lifting, moving, and positioning of supplies and equipment.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer may be required.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds without assistance.
