Job description

Part-Time Strategic Implementation Advisor
Transforming student mental health in schools.
About Effective School Solutions
Effective School Solutions (ESS) is a leading provider of school-based mental health services, serving 6,000+ K-12 students across 12 states.
We deliver the level of clinical care typically found in private practice, out-of-district placements, or higher levels of care directly within public schools by providing a full continuum of clinical programming, professional development, and district consultation.
About the Role
Effective School Solutions (ESS) is seeking a Part-Time Strategic Implementation Advisor to be embedded with one of our partner charter schools, Urban Charter School Collective (UCSC), a mission-driven community rooted in cultural pride and service to Hmong students and families in Sacramento, California. This strategic role serves as the operational bridge between UCSC's leadership vision and day-to-day execution, supporting implementation of a newly developed Strategic Playbook and driving cross-functional alignment across the school's leadership team.
Role Details
Schedule: Part-time, approximately one half-day per week on-site during the school year. The selected candidate will also be expected to attend all Board of Education meetings as part of the role.
Compensation: $90.00 per hour
Responsibilities
  • Operationalize UCSC's Strategic Playbook in partnership with school leadership, ensuring documented priorities move from paper to practice
  • Conduct regular on-site check-ins with department heads to monitor implementation progress and maintain cross-team alignment
  • Identify and address implementation gaps, barriers, and misalignments in real time
  • Provide frequent, structured progress reports to the Board on strategic plan execution and key performance benchmarks
  • Coordinate across departments to sustain momentum and accountability on strategic priorities
  • Document systems and processes to support future replication at additional UCSC campuses
  • Provide guidance on building a long-term internal staffing structure to sustain the Chief of Staff function beyond this engagement

Administrative Duties
  • Progress tracking against strategic benchmarks outlined in the Playbook
  • Documentation of working sessions, implementation decisions, and cross-team actions
  • Preparation of structured board reports and leadership briefings
  • Attendance at relevant leadership and strategic planning meetings

Requirements
  • Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation to assigned school site
  • Stable internet connection and proficiency with technology including Microsoft 365, Zoom, and virtual collaboration tools
  • Computer with camera and audio capability

Qualifications and Skills
  • Master's Degree in Education or Educational Leadership required
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, organizational leadership, or operations management in a K-12 or nonprofit setting
  • Proven ability to lead through influence in complex, matrixed organizations without formal direct authority
  • Strong cross-functional coordination and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience working with culturally specific or community-serving organizations preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including board-level reporting

Why Join Effective School Solutions?
  • ESS is a rapidly expanding organization that has transformed in-school mental health and educational support services across 12 states
  • Dynamic organization with a strong track record of innovation, growth, and meaningful community impact
  • Excellent compensation and career development opportunities
  • ESS understands that its success is tied directly to recruiting and retaining outstanding staff
