Job description

WHO IS INDUSTRIAL METAL SUPPLY?
IMS is the only metal distributor that can service manufacturers, fabricators and job shops to contractors, maintenance departments and hobbyists all within hours. For the past 77 years we have been constantly finding ways to save time and money for all our clients. IMS provides custom cut metals for multiple industries including Aerospace; Energy; Semiconductor; Transportation; Construction; Medical Device, and Mining. Our inventory is massive, quality standards unmatched, and our turn-around time is in a league of its own. Our Phoenix branch is a 200,000 newly built facility.
WHAT ARE THE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES?
As a key contributor to our retail team, the Store Stocker is responsible for working directly with customers, pulling orders and ensuring quality standards are being met with each transaction.
  • Safely locates and identifies materials and products indicated on work orders using the appropriate material handling equipment, such as forklifts, side-loaders, and cherry pickers.
  • Verifies the size of materials and products with the use of calipers, a micrometer, tape measures and the established color-coding system.
  • Verifies that pulled material meets or exceeds Company quality standards.
  • Documents material pulled using the IMS process.
  • Understands and uses proper tagging process.
  • Restock floor displays as necessary, keeping areas fully stocked and clean.
  • Assure pricing is correct on existing products as new products are stocked.
  • Communicates inventory shortages and outages to proper individuals for re-ordering.
  • Identifies discrepancies between the inventory listing and the actual quantities in stock.
Minimum Requirements
  • 6 to 12 months (minimum) of Forklift experience is required
  • Strong detail orientation and understanding of safe work processes and procedures.
  • Strong customer, quality and results orientation.
  • Knowledge of proper packaging procedures for how different types of materials are handled.
  • Knowledge of basic measuring tools, including calipers, a micrometer, and tape measures.
  • Must be able to see, hear, speak and write clearly to communicate with associates and/or customers.
  • Manual dexterity required for occasional reaching and lifting of small objects, and operating office equipment.
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Experience in a metal fabrication shop a plus.

Compensation Disclaimer: The salary range listed for this position reflects the potential earning range for the role. Starting compensation is determined based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, skills, qualifications, education, and internal equity. Not all candidates will be hired at the top of the posted salary range.
Shift #1 – 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM Monday to Friday (with occasional Saturday)
Shift #2 – 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM Monday to Friday (with occasional Saturday)
