The Extended Day Academy (EDA) Assistant supports the after-school program serving elementary students from 3:00 PM-6:00 PM each school day. This position plays a vital role in providing a safe, structured, and nurturing environment where students can grow academically and socially through organized play and learning experiences.
EDA Assistants help implement engaging activities including homework support, STEM enrichment, arts and crafts, games, and physical activity while maintaining high standards of supervision and safety.
Essential Responsibilities
Supervise and actively engage students in a safe and structured after-school environment
Provide homework assistance and academic support as needed
Plan and facilitate enrichment activities including arts & crafts, STEM projects, games, and organized physical activity
Implement positive behavior management strategies aligned with district expectations
Set clear expectations and maintain consistent routines
Build positive, respectful relationships with students and families
Maintain accurate attendance and follow all safety procedures
Communicate effectively with parents, campus staff, and EDA leadership
Assist with snack distribution and ensure cleanliness of program spaces
Follow district policies and campus procedures at all times
