Position Announcement
The Woodbury School of Business invites applications for an adjunct instructor to teach Business Statistics during the Fall 2026 semester
The course introduces students to foundational statistical concepts and tools used in business and economics, including data collection, data visualization, summary measures, probability, probability distributions, sampling distributions, interval estimation, hypothesis testing, correlation, and regression analysis.
The course also emphasizes quantitative reasoning, critical thinking, and the use of Excel for statistical analysis.
Schedule: Tuesday/Thursday, twice a week, face-to-face classes, up to 3 sections
Compensation: $3,788 per semester
Summary of Responsibilities
The instructor will be responsible for:
  • Teaching face-to-face sections of Business Statistics.
  • Preparing and delivering engaging class sessions that help students understand and apply statistical concepts.
  • Using Excel and/or other appropriate tools to demonstrate statistical analysis.
  • Helping students connect statistics to real-world business and economics problems.
  • Assessing student learning through homework, exams, projects, or other appropriate assignments.
  • Maintaining regular communication with students and responding to student questions in a timely manner.
  • Following approved course learning outcomes, department expectations, and university policies.

Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications
Applicants should have:
  • A master's degree in statistics, business analytics, economics, finance, management, data analytics, business mathematics, or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach introductory statistics or quantitative methods.
  • Proficiency with Excel and common statistical concepts used in business settings.
  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to student learning.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preference may be given to candidates with:
  • Prior college-level teaching experience.
  • Experience teaching business statistics, analytics, economics, or quantitative methods.
  • Experience using learning management systems such as Canvas.
  • Experience with McGraw-Hill Connect or similar online homework platforms.
  • Professional experience applying statistics, analytics, or quantitative decision-making in business settings.
