Position Title
SW KC Mkt Volunteer CoordinatorOlathe Medical Pavilion DPosition Summary / Career Interest:The Volunteer Coordinator coordinates all Volunteer Services for the Hospice Agency. The Volunteer Coordinator develops, implements and evaluates the volunteer program and the volunteers performance. The Volunteer Coordinator provides monthly meetings with periodical in services to help volunteers increase their knowledge of the hospice program and care. The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for maintaining records, documentation and statistics related to the Volunteer program.

Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions

  • Plans and implements volunteer recruitment.
  • Prepares and presents volunteer training. Responsible for assuring competency of volunteers on an on-going basis.
  • Arranges and conducts monthly volunteer meetings.
  • Prepares and presents volunteer in-services.
  • Attends and participates in IDT meetings.
  • Arranges volunteer services based on individual client and family needs.
  • Attends and participates in-group planning for special events.
  • Maintains ongoing open communication with all team members.
  • Maintains records, statistics and documentation of volunteer activities.
  • Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience

  • High School Graduate
  • 3 or more years of team leadership experience

  • 3 or more years of volunteer leadership experience OR
  • 2 or more years of event or project planning experience
