Job description

ANNOUNCEMENT
Southwestern Illinois College is accepting applications for the SWIC Educational Employee, part-time, union position of Success Programs Support Specialist with district-wide responsibilities.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
In accordance with the Mission and Values of Southwestern Illinois College, this position includes technical, clerical and customer service duties, requiring interpersonal and complex thinking skills to support students, staff and faculty utilizing Success Program services. Work involves communicating effectively, utilizing technology and performing a variety of support functions requiring judgement, flexibility, initiative, attention to detail and task prioritization. Other duties may include data collection, analysis and reporting, proctoring in-person and online tests, the ability to assist students with a wide variety of software programs, troubleshooting technical problems and responding to in-person or online inquiries in a fast-paced, customer service setting. This position supports student engagement, retention and persistence.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. High School diploma or equivalent plus 3 years of related work experience or Associate degree in related field plus 1 year of related work experience required.
2. Experience utilizing Microsoft Office products required.
3. Experience with computer software applications required. Experience with PeopleSoft, InfoShare and Blackboard preferred.
4. Experience proctoring tests preferred.
5. Experience working in an educational setting or working with students and technology preferred.
6. Must pass background check.
STARTING SALARY
$18.30 per hour, 28 hours per week.
