Job Description:

Summary

A part-time facilitator is needed to teach for the IT Accelerator/Good Jobs EDA Grant. The grant is in place until December 2026, to help train and upskill 1,000 new and existing IT professionals in the Greater Peoria areas.


A part-time facilitator will teach noncredit certification courses and boot camps in classroom or hybrid modalities. Courses will be offered primarily in evenings or weekends at intervals based on the need of the students, client or certification requirements. Based on qualifications, instructors may teach in any of the following areas based on their education and experience: Python, PowerBI, Java, JavaScript SQL. We are specifically looking for a facilitator to teach A+ Certification courses.

This is a grant funded position through the IT Accelerator/Good Jobs EDA Grant with an expected end date of 12/31/26 with a possibility of the funding being extended.

Compensation for the PT Facilitator- Information Technology is $45.00 an hour.

Minimum Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required to satisfactorily perform the essential duties and responsibilities.

  • Associates degree or higher plus certification in any of the above IT areas OR 5 years of progressive work experience in IT.
  • Proficient in Power BI.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain cooperative and professional working relationship s with others.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in IT field.
  • Master's degree in IT field.
  • Experience in training/teaching.
  • Industry recognized certification such as CompTIA certifications, PMP, cyber security certifications.
