What is a part time SQL database internship?

A Part Time SQL Database Internship is a temporary, entry-level position where interns work part-time hours assisting with database management tasks, primarily using SQL (Structured Query Language). Interns typically help design, maintain, and query databases, as well as support data analysis and reporting needs. This role is ideal for students or individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in database administration and data management while balancing other commitments such as studies or another job.

What types of projects or tasks can I expect to work on during a part time SQL database internship?

As a part-time SQL Database intern, you can expect to support database administrators and developers by assisting with tasks such as writing and optimizing SQL queries, helping to maintain data integrity, conducting data cleaning, and generating reports. You may also participate in troubleshooting database issues, updating documentation, and learning best practices for database security and backups. The projects are typically structured to offer hands-on experience with real datasets and give you exposure to collaborative work with IT or data teams, making it an excellent opportunity to build practical skills while balancing other commitments.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a part time SQL database intern, and why are they important?

The Opportunity
As a full stack developer, you can resolve a problem with a complete end-to-end solution in a fast, agile environment. If you're looking for the chance to not just develop software, but to create a system that will make a difference, we need you on our team. We're looking for an experienced .NET developer like you with the skills needed to build web applications from vision to production-ready.
This role is more than just coding. As a senior full stack developer at Booz Allen, you'll use your passion to master new tools and techniques and identify needed system improvements. You'll build responsive front ends and the C# services and SQL data layers behind them, ship them through GitHub Actions pipelines, and run them on Azure App Service and Azure Virtual Machines. You'll work in Visual Studio Code alongside AI-assisted development tooling, including Codex and Copilot CLI, as part of the team's day-to-day engineering practice. You'll help clients overcome their most difficult challenges using the latest architectural approaches, tools, and technologies. You'll make sure the solution developed by the team considers the current architecture and operating environment, as well as future functionality and enhancements. This position is located in Atlanta, GA.
Join us. The world can't wait.
You Have:
  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering
  • 5+ years of experience designing, modifying, developing, writing, and implementing software programming applications using Agile methods
  • 5+ years of experience developing web applications with .NET, including C# and ASP.NET Core
  • 3+ years of experience developing front ends using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, including a modern framework or library such as React, Angular, or Blazor
  • Experience developing in Visual Studio Code, and with AI-assisted development tools, including Codex or GitHub Copilot CLI
  • Experience designing, writing, and tuning SQL queries and relational database schemas, and using GitHub for version control and GitHub Actions for CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience deploying, configuring, and supporting applications on Azure cloud services, including Azure App Service and Azure Virtual Machines
  • Experience using back-end and front-end languages to develop complete solutions, and creating solutions to complex problems within a collaborative, cross-functional team
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:
  • Experience acquiring client requirements and resolving workflow problems through automation optimization
  • Experience with Node.js
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting for build, deployment, or system administration automation
  • Experience with Entity Framework Core or a comparable ORM
  • Experience with automated testing tools and unit testing frameworks such as xUnit or NUnit to perform testing and maintenance
