Position Classification: Part-Time / Non-Exempt

Reports To: Manager on Duty

Who We Are

At Walk-On’s, we live for gameday every day! With scratch-made food, wall-to-wall TVs, and that Louisiana spirit, we bring the energy, fun, and flavor to every guest experience. Our bartenders are the playmakers behind the bar—shaking, stirring, and serving up unforgettable drinks while keeping the good times rolling.

What You’ll Do

  • Be the face of the bar—welcome every guest with energy, a smile, and a winning personality.
  • Craft cocktails, pour cold beers, and mix drinks that keep the celebration going.
  • Keep it legal—verify IDs, follow all alcohol laws, and serve responsibly.
  • Know the plays—recommend drinks, menu items, and specials like a pro.
  • Keep the bar stocked, organized, and gameday-ready at all times.
  • Handle cash and credit card transactions quickly and accurately.
  • Jump in as a teammate—help serve food, run drinks, and make sure every guest has a championship experience.
  • Build regulars—learn names, make connections, and be the reason guests come back.
  • Keep it clean—wash glassware, wipe down surfaces, and maintain a bar that looks as good as it runs.
  • Always play as part of the team, supporting coworkers on and off the floor.

What It Takes

  • Legal age to serve alcohol in your state (18 or 21 depending on location).
  • State-required alcohol service certification (Responsible Vendor, TABC, SafeStaff, or equivalent).
  • Friendly, outgoing, and love working with people.
  • Basic knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits (bonus points if you know cocktail trends).
  • Can hustle—stand, move, and stay on your feet for long shifts.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence to connect with guests.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and keep up in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays, and (of course) gameday.

What We’re Looking For

  • A positive attitude that’s contagious.
  • Team-first mentality—you’re here to win with us, not alone.
  • Quick on your feet, organized, and calm under pressure.
  • Pride in your appearance, your work, and the guest experience.
  • Integrity, honesty, and a drive to always give your best.

Why You’ll Love It Here

  • High-energy, gameday atmosphere where work feels like play.
  • Flexible scheduling—perfect for students or anyone with outside obligations.
  • Team culture built on comradery and championship spirit.
  • Room to grow—bartenders today, leaders tomorrow.

Compliance Note

All bartenders must follow federal, state, and local laws regarding alcohol service in Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Tennessee. Proper certifications are required and must be kept current.

REQUIREMENTS

    ABOUT THE COMPANY

Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux is more than just a place to grab a bite to eat—it’s a story of heart, hustle, and the underdog spirit.

Our journey started in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, when two LSU walk-on basketball players turned their dream into reality. With no scholarships, no guarantees, and no spotlight, they built their success the same way they built Walk-On’s: through hard work, teamwork, and never giving up. That drive has grown from a single restaurant into a nationally recognized brand, but we’ve never lost sight of our roots. At Walk-On’s, we pride ourselves on scratch-made dishes with a Louisiana flair, a fun and welcoming game-day atmosphere, and a culture that treats every team member like family.

We believe that everyone—from the kitchen to the floor, from the host stand to management—has an important role to play in creating unforgettable guest experiences. When you join Walk-On’s, you’re joining a team that values energy, passion, and pride in every shift. We celebrate wins together, push through challenges side by side, and make sure our guests feel like part of the team, too. This isn’t just a job—it’s a chance to be part of a winning culture where you can grow, shine, and help carry on the Walk-On’s tradition of turning hard work and hospitality into something truly special.

Our Core Values at Walk-On’s: Teamwork – Every role matters, and we win together. Hospitality – We deliver unforgettable experiences with genuine care. Passion – We hustle hard, bring energy, and take pride in what we do. Growth – We invest in our people, offering opportunities to learn and advance. Community – We support and celebrate the neighborhoods we serve.
