These positions are ideal for individuals who want to pursue sports journalism without committing to a full-time schedule, offering flexibility and the chance to build a portfolio. Most part-time sports writers need strong writing skills, a passion for sports, and the ability to meet deadlines. Experience with social media and digital publishing tools can also be helpful.
