Job description

Hourly Rate: $19.00

Works under the general direction of the Athletic Manager. Coordinates with the Athletic Specialists to provide officiating services to specific competitions. Provides an atmosphere of fun, recreation, and good sportsmanship in a safe environment. Enforces Parks & Neighborhoods - Athletics policies and playing rules of individual sports to maintain an appropriate level of control, fairness, and player safety. Resolves disputable matters and claims to rule infractions. Attends official training clinics. Completes required paperwork/reports. Communicates with coaches, participants, parents/guardians and Athletics Staff. 
 

High school diploma. Knowledge of playing rules for various sports. 
 

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

Performs additional functions (essential or otherwise) which may be assigned.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  Must be able to communicate clearly verbally both orally and in writing. Requires the ability to traverse athletic facilities and fields and lift up to 50 pounds. Requires contact with citizens and staff. 

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:  Majority of work is performed in an athletic facility or on an athletic field, which may include working in weather conditions.
