What is the opportunity?

As the Executive Assistant supporting the Vice President Commercial Banking(Central and Western Nova Scotia), you will provide in-depth support in day-to-day management of teams in the Region.The primary purpose of this role is to help the VP maximize their time against top priorities in the market, impacting client loyalty, employee engagement, and business results. You will proactively recommend and implement changes to improve efficiency, team engagement, analyses, and build relationships with internal partners to support the VPs' work.

What will you do?

  • Plan and monitor critical aspects of the market, such as operating expenses, staff cost budgets, the business unit's recognition programs, client and staff event management, and internal regional communications processes;
  • Provide support to plan, organize and administer the VPs' calendar and ensures pre-preparation for all bookings;
  • Prioritize the VPs' time against the highest impact activities;
  • Actively manage incoming and outgoing correspondences and act as a point of contact between executives and employees/clients;
  • Support the VP with risk and compliance requirements, transit routines, and overall market office operations;
  • Prepare the VP for weekly, monthly and quarterly reviews & routines, including electronic documentation management and all information reporting; and
  • Coordinate technical aspects of on-boarding of new hires, including equipment orders and system access setup.
  • Uphold a strict level of confidentiality.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:

  • 2 - 4 years' experience providing administrative support to senior leaders.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point), Adobe Acrobat, and Social Media web platforms.
  • Demonstrated proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making capability.
  • Very strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders, including staff, clients, and external partners.
  • Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail.
  • Highly resourceful team-player, with the ability to also be extremely effective independently.
