Job description

We are hiring an experienced Paralegal to join our lean, high-performing commercial practice. This is a dedicated paralegal role focused on rigorous case and deadline management, checklist-driven workflows, and proactive support of attorneys across litigation, corporate, and transactional matters. The ideal candidate is bright, determined, highly organized, and takes ownership of tracking systems and action planning without constant direction. (24 hours per week to start, with growth opportunities!)

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage case files (digital and physical), client correspondence, and docket deadlines for litigation, corporate, and transactional matters.
  2. Maintain detailed checklists, trackers, and action plans; initiate follow-up and flag upcoming deadlines.
  3. Prepare and organize legal documents, filings, and supporting materials.
  4. Own and update the firm’s client corporate and administrative calendars for critical deadlines (court dates, statutes of limitation, contract notice periods, trademark/IP maintenance, corporate filings, immigration compliance, settlement dates, etc.).
  5. Input deadlines into shared Outlook calendars with reliable reminders and send proactive 30/60-day client notices.
  6. Assist with client onboarding documents, selected correspondence, and follow-up touchpoints.
  7. Maintain and update standard legal templates, checklists, and firm precedents.
  8. Coordinate closely with attorneys and the existing paralegal/ops team to keep matters moving and files consistent.

Qualifications:

  1. At least 3–5 years of paralegal experience in a commercial, corporate, litigation, or professional-services setting; alternative professional detail-oriented experience will be considered.
  2. Demonstrated strength in deadline tracking, checklist systems, detailed note-taking, and initiating action plans.
  3. Strong familiarity with legal document management, case organization, and multi-matter calendaring.
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (especially Outlook calendars) and comfort with legal practice / document management software.
  5. Excellent written communication, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities accurately under deadlines.
  6. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a small, remote-friendly team.
  7. Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certification preferred but not required.
