Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
- Applying state-of-the-art principles of design and data collection to all collaborative studies in which we participate,
- Training students to apply these principles to practice, and
- Conducting research aimed at improving the design, data collection and analysis phases of types of studies we do.
Position Summary
The Water Institute is seeking two part-time senior-level practitioners to lead recruitment, growth, and sustainability efforts for the WASH in Healthcare Facilities Community of Practice and the WASH circuit riders community of practice. This part-time, remote position leverages the coordinator's established networks and deep field expertise to build a thriving community of practitioners, identify and respond to members' needs, facilitate technical collaboration, and support funding development for community members.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Master's degree in a discipline related to the field assigned; or Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the field assigned and two years of research/analysis, preferably with one year in a supervisory role; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Management Preferences
- Experience managing or participating in Communities of Practice or professional networks
- Grant writing or funding development experience
- Experience working in low- and middle-income country contexts
- Coursework in relevant field (public health, engineering, international development, etc.)
- Multilingual abilities
Special Physical/Mental Requirements
-Ability to travel 2-4 weeks per year to support in-person meetings and conferences
