Job description

The following job description details the scope of responsibility and specific areas of responsibility
regarding the position of the Handy Man. This position is responsible for being able to follow directions
as given by Department Manager
Must be at least 21 years old.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY
• The Handy Man will possess working knowledge of basic building maintenance ( light bulb replacement, minor carpentry , painting , etc. )
• Physical ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Work with all other departments as needed
• Perform traffic control duties including sign and cone placement and flagman responsibilities associated with traffic control
• Assist with all weather-related events (snow/ice, tornado, and other storms) to include tree removal, road clearing, etc., and must be able to use/operate associated tools and equipment, snow plow, weed eater, chainsaw, plus others as required by task
• Keep work sites clean and orderly
• Keep all hand tools in good working order
• Use and maintain all of the proper PPE
• Complete work orders in a timely fashion
• Complete weekly maintenance checklists
• Assist with pool cleaning/maintenance
• Tennis court grooming/ cleaning
• Pickleball court/ Bocce ball court maintenance
• Assist with merchandise pick up and delivery

REQUIREMENTS AND EQUIPMENT
• Will be working outdoors (rain, snow, heat, cold, etc.)
• Will be working at heights above 15 ft
• May encounter wildlife during daily duties
• May have to work in high stress situations
• May work 2-3 hrs. between breaks
• May require standing for long periods of time

QUALIFICATIONS
• High School diploma/GED preferred but not required
• Reliable and steady work performance history
• Available and willing to work overtime as needed
• Possess a clean MVR and valid driver's license with ability to drive in all types weather and road conditions
• Position requires employee to be competent to understand written/oral instruction from the Facilities Maintenance Manager
• Provide excellent customer service to residents, co-workers and other departmental personnel
Must pass background check and drug screen test.
Must be authorized to work in the US.
