What You'll Be Doing:
  • Develop and manage training programs for shipyard industrial trades (welding, electrical, pipefitting, rigging, etc.)
  • Deliver hands-on and classroom training, including onboarding and refresher courses
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, NAVSEA, and contract requirements
  • Maintain training schedules, curricula, and qualification tracking systems
  • Track and report training metrics, certifications, and workforce readiness
  • Design and update training materials, SOPs, and work instructions
  • Evaluate trainee performance and implement feedback and remediation plans
  • Support audits by maintaining accurate, audit-ready training records
  • Partner with Operations, Safety, HR, and Quality teams to identify skill gaps and training needs
What You'll Need to Succeed:

Minimum:

  • 5+ years of experience in a shipyard, manufacturing, or industrial trades environment
  • 2+ years of experience in training, workforce development, or instruction
  • Strong knowledge of industrial trades (mechanical, electrical, welding, etc.)
  • Familiarity with OSHA standards and industrial safety practices
  • Experience delivering both hands-on and classroom training
  • Strong communication, organization, and program management skills

Preferred:

  • Experience supporting Navy/DoD shipyard or federal contracting environments
  • Training certifications (OSHA trainer, NCCER, or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of NAVSEA standards and shipyard processes
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS)
Work Environment:
  • Combination of office, classroom, and active shipyard/industrial settings
  • Regular interaction with skilled trades personnel
  • Use of PPE and adherence to shipyard safety protocols required
