The Role
The Non-Destructive Testing Lab (NDT) functions as a support department to the shipyard providing all NDT required by specifications, drawings, Standard Procedures, and Regulatory Agencies. NDT services provided are Radiography (R/T), Ultrasonic Testing (U/T), Magnetic Particle Testing (M/T), Dye Penetrates Testing (P/T), Chemical Spot Testing, Metal Monitor Testing, Hardness Testing, Cathodic Protection Surveys, Metallurgical Sample preparation and analysis, Eddy Current Testing, review and final approval authority for all subcontractor furnished radiographs and NDT procedures
Must Have
- Must be proficient as a Level ll in at least 2 major methods ( MT, PT,RT, or UT ) - Candidate will be required to attain ASNT IRRSP or equivalent radiation safety 5-year certificate. - Perform on the job training for Level l employees. Perform NDT in accordance with applicable procedures. - Perform specific set--up and calibrate equipment. - Must be a high school graduate or equivalent with related experience in NDT or has satisfactorily completed at least two years of Engineering of Science study or a level ll certification by examination
