Project Overview:
Fab 62 is an advanced semiconductor fabrication facility for Intel Corporation, located at Intel's Ocotillo campus in Chandler, Arizona. As part of this work, the M&T team is responsible for delivering the engineering, procurement, and construction scope required to complete and finish-out a leading-edge chipmaking facility - a highly demanding environment where precision, cleanliness, schedule certainty, and coordination across thousands of craft and professional personnel are essential to success. The project supports the continued expansion of domestic semiconductor manufacturing capacity, contributing to a more resilient technology supply chain while creating significant opportunity for the local Arizona workforce. Joining the Fab 62 team means contributing directly to one of the most strategically important construction efforts in the United States and helping deliver the infrastructure behind the next generation of microelectronics.
Job Summary:
In this role, you will supervise a team of Control Systems personnel, estimate project staffing needs, and schedule and assign work. You will prepare discipline estimates and work plans and review and approve control systems investigations and studies. Your leadership will drive high quality work plans, successful implementation of control system components, team support and training, and project performance.
This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and will require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership.#LI-AM3
Major Responsibilities:
  • Plans, develops, directs, and participates in the day-to-day Control Systems engineering activity on small to medium sized projects or a portion of a major project with minimal to moderate complexity within a global business unit utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs).
  • Supervises, coordinates, and reviews the work of personnel assigned, estimates staffing needs, and schedules and assigns work accordingly.
  • Provides the technical input to meet procurement requirements.
  • Prepares or oversees the preparation of Control Systems discipline estimates and work plans in accordance with project scope, schedule, and budget, and manages implementation and performance accordingly.
  • Reviews and makes recommendations for the Control Systems engineering aspects of bid evaluations and awards for approval by project engineering.
  • When directed, coordinates with client representatives to obtain their approval of Control Systems engineering aspects of the work.
  • Reviews and approves key calculations, licensing evaluations, design documents, supplier drawings and data, material specifications, drawings, and change orders, for the project to which assigned.
  • Ensures that assigned Control Systems engineering personnel receive appropriate on-the-job training for their professional development.
  • Assists in the preparation and reviews of project procedures and cost estimates for proposals, forecasts, and change orders.

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8 -10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • Knowledge of instrumentation and control valves including specifications, generation of data sheets, application of tubing, and instrument installations.
  • Knowledge of control system design including digital and analog control logic, control system network architecture, allocation of facility control system I/O, graphic displays, and acceptance tests.
  • Demonstrated strong frontline leadership skills and emphasis on continuous improvement and team building and an ability to cope with conflicting deadlines, frequent interruptions, and multiple tasks.
  • Ability to facilitate technical discussions with third parties (e.g., clients, suppliers, regulators).
  • Prior experience in planning and executing greenfield or brownfield projects in semiconductor, data center and life sciences market segments.
  • Licensed Professional Engineering (PE) in Control Systems.
