Job description:

We are seeking a full-time or part-time Upholstery & Drapery Seamstress to join our upholstery and drapery workroom in Gaithersburg, Maryland.
The ideal candidate is motivated, dependable, detail-oriented, and able to follow instructions. Responsibilities include sewing and fabricating upholstery and drapery products using industrial sewing machines. Training in our specific production methods will be provided.
Responsibilities
  • Sew upholstery cushions, pillows, draperies, and other fabric products
  • Operate industrial sewing machines safely and accurately
  • Measure, cut, assemble, and fabricate materials according to instructions
  • Maintain consistent workmanship and attention to detail
  • Keep the sewing and work areas organized
  • Work cooperatively with other workroom employees
  • Complete assignments within established production schedules
Qualifications
  • At least one year of sewing experience is required
  • Upholstery, drapery, or patternmaking experience is preferred
  • Experience operating industrial sewing machines is a plus
  • Must be punctual, dependable, organized, and detail-oriented
  • Must be able to follow instructions and work as part of a team
  • Willingness to learn new sewing and fabrication techniques
Schedule
Monday through Friday, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Full-time or part-time schedules may be available.
Compensation
Hourly pay is based on experience and demonstrated skill level. Performance-based bonus opportunities may be available.
