POSITION OVERVIEW

The Part Time Staff Pharmacist is responsible for providing comprehensive pharmaceutical care.

SCHEDULE AND PAY

Position is a 0.5 FTE, 20 hour work week

Clinic Open: Monday – Thursday 8AM - 7PM, Friday 8AM – 5PM, and Saturday 8AM -12PM. Scheduling needs will be discussed during interview.

Hourly Rate of $60- $65. Pay offer is based on education, and experience.

DUTIES

  • Responsible for final verification process of prescriptions.
    • Verifies accurate data entry.
    • Completes drug utilization review on prescriptions prior to dispensing.
    • Completes final product verification on prescriptions prior to dispensing.
    • Counsels patients on all new prescriptions.
  • Assists providers and ancillary staff in the selection of prescription and over-the-counter medications.
    • Answers staff questions in a timely manner.
    • Assists with selecting affordable medications for patients.
  • Maintains and oversees inventory levels.
    • Retrieves outdated medications on a monthly basis.
    • Uses the computerized ordering system.
    • Receives, labels and stocks prescription drugs and prescription supplies.
    • Files invoices.
  • Responsible for oversight of the work of pharmacy staff on duty.
    • Oversees work product of pharmacy technicians and pharmacy students.
    • Enforces ACHC Policies and Procedures.
  • Assists with maintaining pharmacy compliance with regulatory bodies (State, Federal, Joint Commission, 340B, etc.) and operations.
    • Ensures medications are stored in the correct areas.
    • Ensures medications are labeled correctly.
    • Maintains daily log book.
    • Completes refrigerator temperature report log.
  • Assists in maintaining pharmacy operations
    • Cleans and maintains the pharmacy area.
    • Prepares and retrieves reports through PioneerRx.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Possesses a current, valid license as a Pharmacist in the State of Iowa
  • Possesses a Bachelor's of Science in Pharmacy or a Doctorate in Pharmacy
